love for gus leukemia fundraiser

Yesterday, I shared with you the lovely work of Logan McClelland, also known as Sweet and Dirtys. Not too long ago, she took her youngest son, Gus (age 3) to the hospital for what they thought was the flu. As it turns out, it was leukemia.

Cancer is awful. Cancer is hard. It stretches a family's resources, and it wreaks havoc on emotions, finances, and more. As an artist community, we're banding together to help Gus (and his family).

You can join in the love at ArtCurious Gallery. For the month of February, over 30 artists have donated affordable works to be sold in honor of Gus, with 100% of the proceeds going to the family. On February 25th from 1-7pm, myself and several other artists will be leading $5 make-and-take crafts, followed by a reception full of food and fun from 6-8pm.

Please come, and share in the love for Gus.

Last Thursday I got to see my work on view at the opening at the William King Museum of Art in its Panoramic Gallery upstairs. The show is called Heaven and Earth, and will be on view from August 4th, 2016 – October 2nd, 2016 (read more).

All of the works are a variety of mixed-media cyanotype on fabric & paper, themed with planets, stars, moons, and botanical specimens.

I draw on them, I sew on them, I paint on them, I embellish them with metal leaf.

It's an honor to be featured, and I thank the folks at William King for giving me the opportunity.
